PrideInn Paradise Beach Resort & Spa Mombasa

Not every beach honeymoon has to be a boutique retreat for two people looking at each other in a remote location. Some couples arrive at the coast wanting space, activity, good food, and the warmth of a well-run resort that treats them well and lets them exhale. PrideInn Paradise Beach Resort and Spa on Mombasa's coast is exactly that kind of property, and for the right kind of honeymoon couple, it delivers something genuinely excellent.
My partner Njeri and I had been advised by Africa Bed of Roses Safaris that PrideInn Paradise would suit us after listening to what we actually wanted from our coast days: a proper beach, a good spa, diverse dining, a pool worth spending time in, and staff who were warm without being intrusive. Every one of those requirements was met.

Location and Setting

PrideInn Paradise is located on the Kenyan coast south of Mombasa, offering guests direct beach access along one of the coast’s well-maintained stretches of white sand. The resort is accessible from Moi International Airport and sits close to the attractions of the broader Mombasa coast including diving sites, marine parks, and the old town.

Accommodation

The resort has spacious rooms and suites designed with coastal comfort as the guiding principle. Rooms have private balconies or terraces, quality beds, air conditioning, ensuite bathrooms, and ocean or garden views depending on the category booked. Suites offer additional space and elevated finishes for couples looking for something with more presence.

Africa Bed of Roses Safaris had arranged our room with sea-facing positioning and a honeymoon welcome package that included flowers, chocolates, and wine on arrival. The room felt immediately welcoming, which after several days of game drives was exactly the greeting we needed.

Dining

The resort’s dining programme covers multiple outlets: a main restaurant with buffet meals, a beach bar and grill, and room service for couples who prefer privacy. The food is consistently good, with Kenyan coastal cooking sitting alongside international options at every meal. Fresh seafood is the standout: prawns, fish, and crab prepared with the spice and coconut combinations that define the Swahili coast kitchen.

Frequently Asked Questions About

PrideInn Paradise Beach Resort & Spa

PrideInn Paradise sits on the beachfront along Serena Road in the Shanzu Beach area of Mombasa’s North Coast, approximately 20 to 25 kilometres from Mombasa city centre and 22 to 25 kilometres from Moi International Airport, around a 30 to 45-minute transfer by road. The resort is roughly two kilometres from Kenyatta Public Beach and less than a kilometre from the KWS ticket office for the Mombasa Marine Park, giving guests easy access to the protected coral reef and marine life just offshore.

The resort has five room categories. Superior Rooms offer garden or pool views and are available across all wings and floors, with a sea view upgrade available at an additional fee. Superior Family Rooms are furnished with a king-size bed and a children’s double-deck bed in a partitioned section, suited to honeymooners travelling with family. Sea Facing Rooms are the strongest choice for honeymooning couples, each with a private balcony fitted with deck chairs and direct views across the Indian Ocean just a few metres away, available in single, twin, and double bed configurations. Accessible Rooms are located on the ground floor with direct outdoor access. Interconnecting Rooms consist of two bedrooms joined by an internal door, with one twin side and one double side, suited to groups or extended family travel. All rooms and suites are designed with calming natural hues, bespoke furnishings, locally crafted textiles, and feature walls referencing coastal Kenyan culture.

The resort’s activity offering is one of the most comprehensive on the Kenyan coast. The Aqua Park is the centrepiece for families and active guests, with multi-level water slides, water cannons, climbing frames, and a 500-litre tipping bucket. Four swimming pools include an infinity pool overlooking the Indian Ocean. Water sports cover snorkelling, diving, kayaking, and windsurfing, with the Mombasa Marine Park accessible just offshore for coral reef exploration. The resort’s animation team runs daily aqua aerobics, treasure hunts, dancing, cooking demonstrations, and game shows throughout the day. Beach volleyball, evening entertainment, and live cultural performances add to the evening programme. The Pakico Kids Zone provides supervised activities for children aged five to twelve at no charge, giving honeymooning parents genuine time alone. City excursions to Mombasa Old Town, Fort Jesus, Mama Ngina Waterfront, and other coastal landmarks can be arranged through the resort.

The main meal plan is half-board, covering breakfast and dinner. The Bahari Restaurant serves buffet-style breakfast, lunch, and dinner across international and local cuisines. The Blue Marlin Seafood Grill specialises in fresh catch of the day, grilled lobster, and prawns, and is a strong recommendation for a honeymoon dinner. Shimmers Beach Bar handles beachfront cocktails, wines, and light bites. The Aqua Pool Bar near the infinity pool serves drinks and snacks throughout the day. The Tangerine Lounge is the indoor bar for wines, spirits, and cocktails in the evenings. In-room dining is available for couples who prefer a private meal without leaving their room.

The resort has four swimming pools including an infinity pool, the Aqua Park, a spa and wellness centre offering massages, facials, and body wraps, a fully equipped fitness centre, direct beach access, a kids club, multiple restaurants and bars, in-room dining, conference and meeting facilities with capacity for over 2,500 delegates across more than ten rooms, wedding venues covering beach, garden, and banquet settings, and complimentary parking. The convention centre is one of the largest beach conference facilities in Africa, which makes the resort equally practical for corporate groups combining meetings with a coastal stay.

Yes. The sea-facing rooms with private ocean-view balconies provide the most romantic base within the resort, and the spa’s couples treatments, the Blue Marlin Seafood Grill for private dinners, and the beachfront setting give honeymooners a strong range of intimate experiences to draw from. The wedding team handles beach weddings, garden ceremonies, banquets, and black-tie events with full catering and décor coordination. Africa Bed of Roses Safaris includes PrideInn Paradise in select Mombasa honeymoon itineraries, particularly for couples who want a lively, well-facilitated coastal resort with the option to combine their beach stay with an inland safari extension.
