The Four Seasons Safari Lodge is located in the Serengeti’s central corridor, close to the Seronera River Valley, which is one of the park’s most consistently wildlife-rich areas. Year-round predator sightings are exceptional here, with lion, leopard, cheetah, and wild dog all well-represented, and large herds of elephant, buffalo, and plains game ensuring that every drive produces something worth remembering.
The lodge is a permanent, solid-built structure rather than a tented camp, designed with the Four Seasons ethos of seamless luxury in architecturally distinctive settings. Guest rooms, dining areas, and recreational facilities are all built to the standard you would expect from this brand, with the landscape incorporated into the design rather than domesticated by it.
Guest rooms and suites are beautifully furnished with private sun decks, infinity-edge pools in many categories, and outdoor showers that make bathing under the Serengeti sky a daily ritual rather than an adventure. The interiors balance the Four Seasons preference for quality materials and refined finishes with a colour palette and design vocabulary that reflects the surrounding landscape.
My husband and I had a suite with a private infinity pool on the deck, king-size bed with quality linens, a large bathroom, and a sitting area from which the Serengeti was visible in every direction we turned. In the mornings, while the coffee was being made, we could see a group of zebra grazing about three hundred metres from the window. In the evenings, the waterhole near the lodge attracted elephant, lion, and a variety of other species that made sunset a spectator sport.
Dining at the Four Seasons Serengeti is the finest lodge restaurant experience in Tanzania. Multiple outlets serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a quality and consistency that reflects the brand’s global culinary reputation. The main restaurant provides views across the landscape and serves a range of dishes from Tanzanian local cooking to international gourmet, with ingredients flown in and sourced locally to maintain freshness at altitude.
Private dinners on the deck, sundowner experiences at locations in the park, and bush breakfasts are all available and all excellent. Africa Bed of Roses Safaris arranged a private dinner for us on our third evening that remains one of the finest meals of our combined lives.

The lodge has a full-service spa, an outdoor swimming pool with views across the Serengeti, a fitness centre, and meeting and event facilities. Game drives are conducted twice daily in open vehicles with professional guides, and the central location ensures that sightings are both frequent and varied.
Hot air balloon safaris over the Serengeti can be arranged at additional cost and offer a perspective on the landscape that ground-level drives cannot replicate.
Not every couple wants to zip themselves into a tent at night. For those who want the full Serengeti experience without any compromise on accommodation quality, the Four Seasons Safari Lodge delivers it without apology. The wildlife is the same Serengeti wildlife. The landscapes are the same Serengeti landscapes. The guides are excellent. The only difference is that you return at the end of the day to a room that operates to the world’s highest standard of hospitality.
Ideal for first-time safari visitors. The familiar quality of the accommodation makes the wildlife experience feel accessible rather than intimidating, and the guiding is patient and thorough.
Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti is an ultra-luxury contemporary retreat set in the heart of Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park. The lodge overlooks a natural active watering hole that draws elephants, leopards, and other wildlife throughout the day, viewable from the infinity pool, dining decks, and private room balconies without leaving the property. For honeymooners who want world-class resort comfort combined with genuine Serengeti game viewing, it represents the most lavishly appointed option in the park.
The closest airstrip is Seronera, located inside the Serengeti National Park, a 25 to 45-minute scenic drive from the lodge. Most guests fly internationally into Kilimanjaro International Airport and connect via domestic bush flight directly to Seronera with operators including Air Tanzania or Coastal Aviation. Arusha Airport is an alternative domestic connection point. Africa Bed of Roses Safaris arranges all flight bookings and transfers as part of your Tanzania honeymoon package.
The lodge has 77 accommodations across three categories. The 60 guest rooms are standard luxury rooms with private balconies. The 12 suites offer upgraded space often including outdoor showers and private infinity pools. The five villas, including the Presidential Villa, are freestanding multi-room options providing the highest level of privacy and seclusion. For honeymooners, the suites with private infinity pools offer an exceptional combination of personal space and wildlife views, while the villas suit couples who want complete separation from the wider lodge.
Morning and evening game drives through the Serengeti are led by resident guides and can be arranged as half-day or full-day private excursions, noting that game drives carry a substantial additional cost separate from the room rate. Hot air balloon safaris offer a sunrise flight over the Serengeti plains, widely regarded as one of the most extraordinary experiences in East Africa. Photography classes led by the lodge’s in-house expert help guests make the most of the wildlife and landscape. Cultural visits and walks with local Maasai communities bring a human dimension to the safari experience. The watering hole in front of the lodge provides continuous passive wildlife viewing from the infinity pool, dining decks, and private balconies throughout the day and into the evening. The spa, fitness centre, and Discovery Centre round out the on-site offering for quieter afternoons between drives.
The lodge offers a customisable all-inclusive meal and beverage plan covering all meals, standard beer, wine, and spirits, a complimentary laundry credit, and standard Wi-Fi. Game drives, Serengeti National Park entry fees of approximately USD 60 or more per person per day, ultra-premium wines, and top-shelf spirits are excluded from the all-inclusive rate and charged separately. Africa Bed of Roses Safaris factors all park fees and activity costs into your overall Tanzania honeymoon budget at the planning stage.
June through October offers the strongest conditions for game viewing, with dry weather, easier wildlife spotting, and the Mara River crossings at their peak from August through September. January and February bring the calving season in the southern Serengeti, with thousands of wildebeest and zebra giving birth and high predator activity following. November to early December is a quieter shoulder period with emerald post-rain plains and fewer vehicles. Africa Bed of Roses Safaris advises on timing based on which wildlife experience matters most to you as a couple.
For honeymooners who want the Serengeti experience delivered at the highest possible level of comfort and service, it is difficult to argue against it. The watering hole wildlife viewing from the infinity pool, the personalised touches arranged by the staff, the spa, and the quality of the guiding combine to create something that feels genuinely different from a standard safari camp stay. The trade-off is the resort scale, which lacks the intimate bush camp atmosphere of a smaller tented property. Africa Bed of Roses Safaris recommends it for couples who are prioritising comfort and service alongside game viewing, and can pair it with a smaller camp in another part of the Serengeti or another Tanzania destination for a honeymoon that covers both ends of the safari experience spectrum.
