Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi Karibu Kenya
Your romantic Kenya honeymoon begins at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), where your personal guide from Africa Bed of Roses Safaris will welcome you. You will be transferred to your boutique hotel in the leafy suburbs of Nairobi.
Spend the afternoon recovering from your flight. If you arrive early, we can arrange a private visit to the Giraffe Centre to feed the endangered Rothschild giraffes by hand, a classic “Instagrammable” moment to start your trip. Dinner is reserved at the famous Carnivore Restaurant or a quiet candlelit table at your hotel.
Day 2: Amboseli National Park
After breakfast, you depart for Amboseli National Park. The drive takes you south, and as you approach the park, the majestic snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro dominates the horizon.
Amboseli is famous for its “tuskers”, huge elephants with massive tusks that roam against the backdrop of the mountain. Arrive at your lodge in time for lunch. In the afternoon, set out on your first private game drive. Watching a herd of elephants cross the plains at sunset, with the mountain turning pink in the twilight, is one of the most romantic sights in Africa.
Day 3: Amboseli National Park Another Full Day
Wake up to the view of Kilimanjaro (weather permitting) right from your tent or room. Today is dedicated to exploring the park fully. Your guide will take you to observation Hill for a panoramic view of the swamps, where hippos bathe and elephants graze deep in the water.
This is a relaxed day. You dictate the pace. If you want to return to the lodge for a midday swim or a couple’s massage, the choice is yours. In the evening, enjoy a private “sundowner” cocktail set up in the bush, raising a toast to your marriage as the African night begins.
Day 4: Lake Naivasha
Leaving the elephants behind, you drive into the Great Rift Valley to Lake Naivasha. This freshwater lake is a birdwatcher’s paradise and home to hundreds of hippos.
Arrive at your lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a private boat ride on the lake. Floating past submerged forests and watching fish eagles dive for prey is serene and beautiful. You will also take a guided walking safari on Crescent Island, where you can walk safely among zebras and giraffes—no predators here, just you and nature.
Day 5: Masai Mara National Reserve
Today, you head to the world-famous Masai Mara, the highlight of any Kenya honeymoon safari. As you enter the reserve, the landscape opens up into endless rolling plains dotted with acacia trees.
The Mara has the highest density of wildlife in Kenya. Even on your drive to the lodge, you are likely to spot zebras, topis, and gazelles. Check into your luxury tented camp, where the canvas walls allow you to hear the sounds of the wild while enjoying 5-star comfort. Dinner is served under the stars.
Day 6: Masai Mara National Reserve Full Day
Rise before the sun for an early morning game drive. This is when the Big Five (Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, Elephant, Rhino) are most active. Your guide will track a pride of lions or look for a leopard dragging its kill up a tree.
You will have a picnic breakfast in the middle of the savannah, surrounded by silence and vast beauty. The afternoon is for another game drive or a visit to a traditional Maasai Village (optional) to receive a cultural blessing for your marriage from the elders.
Day 7: Masai Mara National Reserve
For your final day in the bush, we recommend an optional Hot Air Balloon Safari at dawn (extra cost). Drifting silently over the plains as the sun rises is a bucket-list experience, followed by a champagne breakfast in the bush.
Alternatively, take a full-day game drive to the Mara River. If it’s migration season (July-October), you might witness the dramatic river crossing. If not, the river is still teeming with massive crocodiles and hippos. Your guide will find a secluded spot for a private bush lunch.
Day 8: Flight to Diani Beach From Bush to Beach
Say goodbye to the savannah as you board a flight from the local airstrip directly to Diani Beach (Ukunda). This saves you a long drive and maximizes your beach time.
Touch down on the humid, tropical coast where the air smells of salt and frangipani. You will be transferred to your beachfront resort. The contrast between the dusty adventure of the Mara and the turquoise luxury of Diani is breathtaking. Kick off your shoes; you have arrived in paradise.
Day 9: Diani Beach Tropical Bliss
Diani Beach has been voted Africa’s leading beach destination multiple times. The sand is soft and white, and the water is warm.
Today is yours to do nothing. Lounge by the pool, swim in the ocean, or walk hand-in-hand along the shoreline. Your resort offers exceptional seafood, enjoy a romantic dinner featuring fresh lobster and crab.
Day 10: Wasini Island & Kisite Mpunguti Ocean Safari
After breakfast, you will be picked up for a dhow safari to Kisite Mpunguti Marine Park. This is one of the best places in the world to swim with wild dolphins.
Jump off the dhow into the crystal-clear water and snorkel among colorful coral reefs. Afterward, sail to Wasini Island for a Swahili seafood lunch (famous for its crab) in a coral garden restaurant. Sail back to the mainland as the crew entertains you, returning to your resort in the late afternoon.
Day 11: Diani Beach Sunset Farewell
Your final full day is for pure indulgence. We recommend booking a couple’s spa treatment at your resort.
In the evening, embark on a sunset dhow cruise or enjoy a private candlelit dinner arranged right on the beach, with your toes in the sand and the sound of the waves as your soundtrack. It is the perfect closing ceremony for your Kenya honeymoon.
Day 12: Departure Kwa Heri
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and a final dip in the Indian Ocean. Depending on your flight schedule, you will be transferred to the airstrip for your flight back to Nairobi (JKIA) to connect with your international flight home. You leave with a heart full of memories and the spirit of Africa in your soul.
