Tour Plan
Nairobi-Masai Mara National Reserve
You will be picked up from the hotel and proceed to the famous Mara arriving in time for lunch at Mara Bush Camp. You will enjoy your afternoon game drive. On clear days, Masai Mara offers fantastic orange-tinted sunsets and you will definitely want to capture this moment while at your lodge. The Mara Reserve is 1510 sq. km of incredible wide-open landscapes and fertile river woodland following the looping meanders of the Mara River. Wherever you go in the Mara you will see a frequent amount of wildlife such as Masai giraffes, baboons, warthogs, bat-eared foxes, grey jackals, spotted hyenas, topis, impalas, wildebeests, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, and hippos. It is also common to see lions either basking after a heavy meal or surveying the plains for their next meal. Cheetahs and leopards are harder to spot but are still reasonably common. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at the camp.
Exploring the Famous Masai Mara National Reserve
You will be taken on two game drives today, in the morning before breakfast and in the late afternoon. Early mornings and late afternoons are considered the best time to spot animals as they are most active. To get some of the best game viewing of the day, an early start is needed to beat the heat of the sun. This is an experience that will surely create lifetime memories. The reserve is famous for the great migration of wild beasts. To bring more texture to your experience at the Mara, you may want to take advantage of several optional events we offer at an extra cost. You will experience a visit to the local Masai people in their nearby village. You will meet these indigenous people and see up close their ancient lifestyle and culture. You will take a pre-dawn hot air balloon ride high above the reserve as the morning light breaks across the golden savannah and witness the herds of wildlife emerging into the day. Your driver can arrange either of these optional excursions.
Masai Mara – Nairobi
Being your last day at the Mara, you can choose to go for an early morning balloon trip at an extra cost which is a very outstanding way of seeing the savannah plains and the wildlife after which you come back down for a beautiful breakfast. Alternatively, you could opt for an early morning game drive before being transferred to Nairobi for your flight back home.
